By the rivers of Babylon

Psalm 137 is a 25-centuries-old poem. Verse 6 is the source of the custom of breaking glass during the wedding ceremony. Why do we brake glass in Jerusalem weddings (as ours was)? We are reminded that the world is still broken, including the modern stone and steel Jerusalem, and together we are undertaking a mission of gluing the shards to the best of our ability.
